DB Schenker – Logistics for unforgettable moments
The demands placed on logistics for shows and cultural events, corporate events and promotional tours are extensive.
The logistics experts from DB SCHENKERsportsevents are there to help you from as early as the design concept phase of your event. We have many years of experience in the management and implementation of logistics processes for all kinds of events.
DB Schenker was the official logistics service provider for the show "Afrika! Afrika!"
Huge circus tents, show technology, stage sets, musical instruments, marketing material, containers and mobile sleeping accommodation for the artists – DB Schenker was responsible for managing all of the logistics for the tour of Afrika!Afrika!1 and Afrika!Afrika!2 from November 2005 until December 2007. Almost 100 articulated lorries transported 800 tons of material from venue to venue in 13 European cities. One relocation lasted ten days and, in addition to the transport services, DB Schenker also supplied cranes for erecting and dismantling tents along with material containers for storage purposes. More than 80 artists from many African regions took part in the show. To help with the authentic feel of the magical circus event from this amazing continent,
DB SCHENKERsportsevents also handled the import formalities for the original materials used by the actors.
The FIFA World Cup 2006™ football globe was "Moved by Schenker”
As a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG, the "National Sponsor of the FIFA Football World Cup 2006™", DB Schenker took charge of the transport logistics for the FIFA World Cup 2006™ football globe. The assembly and dismantling at each location took about a month each time. The German DB SCHENKERsportsevents team provided the transportation coordination, delivery as required of the components and equipment as well as the supplies. In addition to 60 tons of steel, which filled six
DB Schenker articulated lorries, among other things, about 4.8 kilometers of cable, 20,000 high-output power LEDs, 40 loudspeaker systems and 20 projectors were incorporated into the 20-metre-high football globe.
The predicate "Moved by Schenker" also led the smaller-dimensioned Football Globe Germany – 2006 FIFA World Cup™ that toured internationally. Packed into five 20-foot containers, the steel construction for the illuminated football was transported by air and by land to the exhibition sites in Tokyo, Paris, Milan and Zurich. The additional provision of powered articulating booms, forklift trucks and DB Schenker supervisors on site meant that DB Schenker provided a complete service package.
And the following events were also already on tour with logistics "made by" DB SCHENKERsportsevents:
- Panamericana Tour Pro Biodiesel 2006 (extreme events)
- Witzigmann & Roncalli Bajazzo 2007/2008
- Queensland Ballet European tour since 2007
- Corporate events for well-known customers
